  1. I simply want to say I’m beginner to blogging and site-building and really savored you’re web page. Very likely I’m likely to bookmark your blog post . You actually have exceptional article content. Cheers for sharing your web page.

  2. Terri Thompson says:

I love the colors and contrast. It’s easy on the eyes. πŸ˜‰

  3. Lori says:

    Looking good!!

  4. Timothy Fish says:

If I might make an observation, spanning blog posts across two sites is probably not the best idea. The way this site is currently designed, it requires several clicks to read longer posts. Anyone reading it from the RSS feed will either miss part of the post or will have to click to bring up the post. If they click on the title, as they normally would, that will only bring up the shortened form of the blog post. If they come in by the URL, they receive a listing of the several posts, but once again, if they click on the title they get only the short form, but with the comment form at the bottom. If they look, they will see a link at the bottom of the post to show the rest of the post. This redirects them to a different website. At least in some cases, it will bring up a separate window.

  5. Patti Mallett says:

Change is a good thing. It kind of wakes us up.

    The photo is lovely, Rachelle!

May you enjoy all of the newness in your life!

  6. Rita Monette says:

    Fabulous, Rachelle!

  7. Very nicely done. I love it. Bravo.

  8. Jane Buttery says:

Very impressive Rachelle.I love the elegant colour scheme.

  9. You’re new layout is beautiful! It has a lush look to it and is great on the eyes. I love your picture too. It really compliments everything. Very well done.

  10. Laura W. says:

It’s so pretty!!! Love it! πŸ™‚

  11. Congrats, looks really neat! Very effective and also the colors are relaxing (I hate it when blogs have reverse colors and the letters are white on black!)

  12. Care says:

    Looks Great!

  13. Nancy Petralia says:

You look great in wine colors, Rachelle. I’ll be checking out Author Media too. Thanks.

  14. Congratulations to you and the Author Media team. Terrific new look!

  15. Plum and blue velvet. Yeah. That looks good!

  16. Love the new look. The colors are much better. I always cringe when I see orange. This is more sophisticated and pleasing. Love that your shirt in the photo matches. I think this is a good match to your personality.

  17. This is very nice – the colors are bold but not distracting and it’s easy to read. kewl. Nice fresh starts are often wonderful!

  18. Walt Mussell says:

Great mix of colors with a wonderful picture!

  19. Joe Pote says:

    I like it!

Similar enough to your prior theme to retain a sense of personal branding, yet fresh enough to celebrate the beginning of new ventures!

The colors are easy on the eyes, while retaining a sense of bold uniqueness.

  20. I meant to say yesterday it looks great. Lovely photo!

  21. tedra says:

I love it. The colors almost match the colors i want to paint my room, except my purple’s a little darker.

  22. marion says:

I hate to be a party pooper, but I think this one is not as easy to read. Black print on a mauve-gray background is not enough contrast. Maybe I need stronger reading glasses. The comments are still easy to read. I think they’re closer to the old color scheme.

    • You may want to check your browser settings. Most of us see white print on the mauve background and black print on the antiqued paper background.

      • marion says:

Thanks, PJ. But I think white on mauve-grey would be worse. I think my color shades/intensities on screen must be different from everyone else’s. This technophobe is afraid to start tweaking that stuff.

  23. Beth K. Vogt says:

    I vote “yes!”
Of course this is voting after the fact . . . but I think this is a perfect redo — and still reflects you, even as it reflects your move to Books & Such.

  24. Daphnee says:

That’s awesome! I love the new look πŸ™‚

  25. My only complaint is that I didn’t design it. Very, very nice, Rachelle.

  26. Heidi Leanne says:

Love it! Now if only I could afford even the bronze package from Author Media I’d be a happy woman. Clearly, they know their stuff. I did notice, too, that your shirt coordinates with the websites colors. Well done. Gold stars to everyone!

  27. joylene says:

Very cliche, yet it has a homey feel. Probably the blue with the wood brown colour. Lovely change.

  28. Julie Nilson says:

The dark maroon of the headers matches your blouse in your photo. Well done, designers!

  29. Susan Bourgeois says:

Your blog looks awesome. You can tell that you go above and beyond to keep it fresh and interesting.

I would like to mention that I googled the top literary agent’s blogs about a month ago. Your blog came out as one of the top five agent’s blogs listed.

I thought that was quite impressive. Of course, I know why!

I know everyone who reads and follows your blog feels the same way.

    Keep up the great work.

Love the new colors and design of the new blog.

  30. angie says:

Clean and easy on the eye. (Do your go-to peeps work on messy houses too?)

  31. It looks great, Rachelle! πŸ™‚

  32. I love it! It looks great.

Purple is one of my absolute favorite colors too! πŸ™‚

These sound like echoes, but my first thoughts were professional, beautiful, and easy to navigate. I love the color choices. Congrats!

  44. Carol Riggs says:

Oh, I like!! Very clean and professional looking. Your photo is gorgeous, too. πŸ™‚

  45. Camille Eide says:

Gorgeous! My eyes “popped” when I landed here unaware you’d made changes. I was just thinking about the orange & brown yesterday & wondering if those warms were colors you liked. This palette & look is so “cool” in both senses of the word. Very Pretty and professional. πŸ™‚

  46. Rachel Kent says:

    Looks great! πŸ™‚

  47. Wendy Lawton says:

    Gosh, Rachelle. . . LOVE!

On my computer, the indigo backdrop is gorgeous. Reminds me of my favorite poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins, Pied Beauty. It starts “Glory be to God for dappled things. . .”

    • Wendy, Hopkins is my favorite poet of all time! But my favorite poem of his is “Like a dare-gale skylark scanted in a dull cage, man’s mounting spirit in his bone-house, mean house dwells . . .”

  48. Casey says:

Love the new colors! (and the agent pics. ;-))

  49. The colors are great. Somehow these colors are so much more like you! (The brown-orange was too aggressive to my taste). Congrats! Godspeed & blessings!

  50. Looks very professional! Congratulations.

  51. Donna Pyle says:

WOW! The new layout is eye-catching and easy to navigate. Well done!
