I need the first one (yellow T-shirt) & probably some extras for the introverts in my family. And the editor in me loved the “Grammar Nazi” one. But most of all, I love the smile on your face in that last photo, Rachelle!

    • http://4broadminds.blogspot.com/ carol brill

Beth, I am with you on the grammar nazi. carol

    • Rachelle Gardner

      Thanks, Beth!

    • http://pjcasselman.wordpress.com/ P. J. Casselman

That T-Shirt is a must have, Beth. Now go drink some coffee and make stuff up!

      • http://bethvogt.com Beth K. Vogt

P.J. – I’m not a coffee drinker. I go to Starbucks and order tea. But, yeah, I love that saying too!
Pardon me while I go hang with the imaginary people in my life!
        ;)

        • http://www.authorpeterdehaan.com/ Peter DeHaan

I don’t do coffee or tea. When I go to Starbucks, I go for a fattening pastry. Fortunately I don’t go to Starbucks very often.

          • http://bethvogt.com Beth K. Vogt

And, sigh, I can’t indulge in those yummy looking pastries — thanks to the whole gluten-free dilemma. So, Peter, next time you go, please partake for me.
            :)

    My favorite is:

Drink coffee and make stuff up.

That’s a bit odd, because I don’t even drink coffee. Oh well. It’s still my favorite.

    • http://pjcasselman.wordpress.com/ P. J. Casselman

Perhaps it’s like the great beer commercials. We just love the humor without wanting to drink the smelly foot water.

      • http://www.examiner.com/childrens-literature-in-chicago/elizabeth-mackinney Beth MacKinney

        Lol!

  • http://www.bkjackson.blogspot.com BK Jackson (@BKJacksonAZ)

Oh! I gotta have the T-shirt!

But Snoopy was a close runner up as my next favorite.

  • http://pjcasselman.wordpress.com/ P. J. Casselman

Funny stuff and a an enjoyable grin.

When I saw this, I felt compelled to create a cartoon for the occasion.

      Funny, PJ!

      Hah! Good one, PJ!

    • http://www.martzbookz.blogspot.com Martha Ramirez

      LOL!

    • http://bansheeweaver.blogspot.com Christine Dorman / @looneyfilberts

      I love it, P.J.! :D

    • http://fantasyfic.wordpress.com Sandra Bell Kirchman

Funny, PJ. It’s also very true that many people don’t know, or don’t think, about the downside of writing. You forgot “Staring at a blank screen for hours.” :P

  • http://theparanormalist.wordpress.com Renae

I just realized I was treating your blog differently than others I read, simply because you are an agent. (I’ve been lurking instead of participating in the discussion.) These bits of whimsy reminded me that you’re a person and a blogger, and that you probably like to be told when your readers enjoy your posts. I especially love the coffee themed one.

    • Rachelle Gardner

Thanks for commenting! Glad you’re enjoying the blog.

Yippie tay yay! Happy weekend, y’all.

Love them all, Rachelle, and have a Yeehaw! kind of weekend!!

Where the buffalo roam…yeehaw! Looks like fun, Rachelle!

Love the book in you waiting to come out one.

    Happy Friday!
    ~ Wendy

  • http://livingthebodyofchrist.blogspot.com/ Connie Almony

    Cute! Especially the last one.

  • Jeanne

So fun! I loved them all, and I have seen a few floating around on facebook this week. :) I confess, I’m a little surprised there were none dealing with chocolate…. :)

You look like you were having a great time in that last shot!

    • http://talesfromtheredhead@blogspot.com Jennifer Major @Jjumping

Excellent point Jeanne! If you look closely, there’s a wrapper in her pocket.
      ;)

      • Jeanne

He-he! You have amazing eyesight! ;)

  • http://aboutproximity.com Lisa @aboutproximity

Thanks for a smile this morning:)

I am learning what a funny sense of humor writers have. I love it!

  • http://www.josephjpote.com Joe Pote

“Drink coffee and make stuff up.”

Works for me…sounds like the perfect job!

In fact, I suspect some people already believe that’s what I do for a living…

    • http://talesfromtheredhead@blogspot.com Jennifer Major @Jjumping

      You don’t?
      Oh, I mean, you don’t.

      • Joe Pote

There is sometimes a fine line between research & development and “make things up.”

Sometimes the thin line gets a little blurry… ;-)

        • http://pjcasselman.wordpress.com/ P. J. Casselman

I never make things up. 87.4 percent of all people would agree with me.

          • Joe Pote

            Precisely!

  • http://mehmetarat2000.wordpress.com Mehmet Arat

The second one, “Writing is turning one’s worst moments into money.” by J.P.Donleavy,
can be interpreted in different ways I think.
“Only worst moments of a writer will be worth reading.”
“The money you can gain from writing will be proportional to the tears you can give.”
“Do not attempt writing if everything in your life is in order.”
I know there are authors making good money, but I am not sure it is worth when gives and takes are considered in general.
So I would prefer expressing the above phrase in a different way:
“Writing is turning one’s special ideas and feelings into a diamond described by words.”
If the diamond is found, it may be converted to money.
If not, it will be waiting for that moment.
Thank you for sharing the interesting collection.

  • http://www.geerthofman.com Geert Hofman

    Hey Rachelle,
Great collection and thanks for sharing! The quote about writing holds some unexpected advice for me. It’s my WORST moment I should be writing about. Well, the good news is that I’ll never be out of material :-)
    Best wishes,
    Geert

  • http://annbracken.weebly.com Ann Bracken

I like the “Drink coffee and make stuff up” one the best! Except, I don’t drink coffee either. Hmm, how about hot cocoa? Sugar and fat free. Okay, how about water?

And right now I’m more like the next picture: I could get a lot more work done if I did my work. I’m at work, so off I go! Thanks for the laugh Rachelle!

PS – I wanna be where you were in that picture! Looks like so much fun.

  • http://www.roughwighting.net Pamela

These are wonderful – brought a smile to my face this early Friday morning.

  • http://blessed-are-the-pure-of-heart.blogspot.com Andrew Budek-Schmeisser

The one about turning one’s worst moments into money is cool.

Through the writing process, perhaps we’re turning our worst moments into something completely transcendent…like the prettiest flowers growing from compost.

    Better than money!

    Sometimes.

    • http://pjcasselman.wordpress.com/ P. J. Casselman

“Compost” just became my new catch word.

      • http://talesfromtheredhead@blogspot.com Jennifer Major @Jjumping

You used “compost” and “catch” in the same sentence. Ew.

    • http://ibischild.blogspot.com marion

Oh, Andrew, you can say it! Growing from s**t! [Maybe not on Rachelle's genteel blog though!]
Just kidding because I like your comment.

  • http://www.wordhaus.com Emily Wenstrom

I absolutely must get that shirt. Posting that missions statement by my desk, too :-)

  • http://einefeistyberg.wordpress.com Cherry Odelberg

    One shirt for me, please.
My favorite was the Donleavy quote.
And, I too love the smile on your face, Rachelle.
    “Look at me, I’m unplugged!”

  • Lori

These are great. I loved DRINK COFFEE & MAKE STUFF UP. Also you Yeehaw! picture is great too. I hoped you had a wonderful time and a fun vacation.

  • http://poetrypatio.com Lori Lipsky

My favorites were the Snoopy Nazi and the introvert one. What fun.

    Yeehaw!

  • http://www.sandracareycody.com Sandy Cody

How nice to click on a link and find … just fun.

  • http://www.love-laugh-learn.com Deanna

I can just imagine how much comfort Grammar Nazis really need today.. LOL!

Thanks for the Friday Fun. :)

  • http://www.rebastanley.com Reba

    ha-ha-haaaaaa
    OK, those were funny.

  • http://talesfromtheredhead@blogspot.com Jennifer Major @Jjumping

I’d like to lodge a formal protest, On behalf of myself and Star Fleet Captains everywhere.

It’s “Drink Earl Grey(hot) and make stuff up.”
There. I feel SO much better.

And Rachelle? Look at your grin!

    “Yeehaw!”, back at ya!

    • http://pjcasselman.wordpress.com/ P. J. Casselman

      The British Empire strikes back!

      • http://talesfromtheredhead@blogspot.com Jennifer Major @Jjumping

        AHAHAHA!!! Brilliant, PJ!

    • http://bansheeweaver.blogspot.com Christine Dorman / @looneyfilberts

Sorry, I have to lodge a protest against your protest. Earl Grey tea is fine for SOME intellectual Starfleet Captains with British accents, but ALL Starfleet Captains. I suspect that a certain Captain with the initials J.T.K. was more of a coffee man. And actually, he spent a great deal of time making things up too. :)

      • http://talesfromtheredhead@blogspot.com Jennifer Major @Jjumping

When wasn’t hitting on green alien women with big hair.

        Must. Make. Out. With. Allthegirls.

        • http://bansheeweaver.blogspot.com Christine Dorman / @looneyfilberts

True. And I didn’t mention the Romuulan Ale.

          • http://talesfromtheredhead@blogspot.com Jennifer Major @Jjumping

Hahahaha!!! And Mr Roarke as a Klingon??

  • http://www.kathink.blogspot.com Kathleen Jaeger

    I just loved these!!

  • http://www.murph4slaw.blogspot.com Heidi Murphy

I sure have enjoyed your helpful hints. I too have merely read your content without ever coming over to your blog to thank you. So here’s me thanking you…;o) And by the way, I love your writer humour.

  • http://www.martzbookz.blogspot.com Martha Ramirez

Thanks for putting a smile on my a face:-)

  • http://Www.diginhappy.blogspot.com/ Tedra

I love the one about the shirt since i’m a t-shirt freak but the coofee one rung a bell(maybe substitute the coffee for tea)

  • http://www.artesianministries.org Donna Pyle

Fun, fun, fun! Love, love, love!

  • http://authorheatherhart.blogspot.com/ Heather

    Absolutely loved these!

  • Melissa

Lol! I can totally relate to the t-shirt! I am an introvert outwardly, but an extrovert inwardly. =)

  • http://bansheeweaver.blogspot.com Christine Dorman / @looneyfilberts

Thank you, Rachelle. I needed these laughs today. Have a wonderful weekend.

As a grammar nazi, I found it funny that the graphic about grammar nazis has a period where there should be a comma. ;) Thanks for sharing; these are fun.

So, where were you when the “Yee-Haw” picture was snapped?

  • http://kristinlaughtin.blogspot.com Kristin Laughtin

OK, the t-shirt made me legitimately LOL. I even got a look for it. But it’s hilarious in the same way as the posters for the procrastinator’s union (“meeting delayed”).

  • http://www.perrincothranconrad.com Perrin Conrad

I love these! “Drink coffee and make stuff up” is my motto.

  • http://reneedeangelo4.blogspot.com Renee

What a fun post. I had a tough time deciding which is my favorite. May have to go with the x-ray…it’s how I feel sometimes. Love reading your blog!

    OK. Let’s resolve this!
    “Drink and make stuff up.”
[Wasn't that Hemingway's motto, and a few others?]

  • http://www.garyfultz.com Gary

I needed the laugh, thanks, now I am motivated to…well not sure what but I’ll make coffee and go from there.
    “Gone Fishing”
